Motorola Pushing Software Fix for Atrix Mobile Banking Compatibility

When Motorola issued the 4.1.83 update for the Atrix 4G on AT&T, the devices ability to properly communicate with the mobile apps and websites of several financial services broke. Never fear, Moto is pushing forth a small update to remedy the problem as we speak. You’ll need to grab the Atrix Certificate Updater from the Android Market and follow the simple instructions to get everything in working order. Remember, you’ll need to be on the latest version of the Atrix software … [Read more...]

Old iPhone Outselling Motorola Atrix, HTC Inspire at AT&T?

With hundreds of different Android phones on the market and available, every one can’t be a blockbuster hit. You’ll have some that are hugely popular, some that hit a niche crowd, some that find mainstream success, and some that perform full face plants. It’s no secret that the Motorola Atrix and HTC Inspire are intended to be two of AT&T’s hottest selling Android products, so how and why are old iPhone 3G devices outselling them? There are several possibilities, but it’s … [Read more...]

Motorola Atrix 4G HSUPA Update Coming Your Way

This is definitely a subject that I won’t need to elaborate on too much, as the battle of HSUPA connectivity has been raging since the debut of Motorola Atrix 4G and HTC Inspire 4G on AT&T’s network. I know I’m not alone in saying if you advertise a phone with 4G (despite the arguments of whether or not it’s actual “4G”) using whatever protocol, it should be accessible when you purchase the device, not with a pending update afterwards. If your network can’t handle it, stick to … [Read more...]

Enable HSUPA on your Motorola Atrix 4G

By now, AT&T’s excuses for not having HSUPA enabled on their “4G” devices are old news. Like most carriers, AT&T failed to aknowledge this information until after the highspeed devices were already released and in the hands of a multitude of consumers. We know HTC got the “OK” to unlock the HSUPA service on their Inspire 4G, however we’ve yet to see it happen. Well for Motorola Atrix 4G users there’s now an option that won’t leave you waiting for an official … [Read more...]

Motorola ATRIX 4G Now Dirt Cheap at Best Buy

Although AT&T’s Motorola ATRIX 4G is perhaps the most powerful smartphone in the market today, it’s subject to heavy discounts from third-party outlets. One such outlet is Best Buy who seems to need to move some units – so much so that you can get it for just $ 30 on a new two-year contract.  To put that into perspective, the Otterbox Commuter case for the phone is just $ 6 cheaper and docks for the phone are more expensive. D   iscounts as significant as these seem to … [Read more...]

Motorola Sending Emails to ATRIX 4G Owners to Test New Software Upgrade

Just moments after learning Motorola had published a method for getting back to stock firmware on the ATRIX 4G, we’ve learned they’re sending out emails to owners to help beta test a new software upgrade. Just the other day, it was reported on XDA that one lucky soul received not one, but two updates which eventually uncapped his upload speeds. (Something AT&T promised they’d do in a future software upgrade.) His claims were met with uncertainty, but it was later revealed … [Read more...]

Motorola Releases Method to Get Back to Official ATRIX 4G Firmware

Motorola knows that people root – they’re not sworn to hate that. And they know there will be some people who’ll want a nice HSUPA upgrade once AT&T gets around to issuing it. (And we hear it’s already in the hands of testers.) Thus, they’ve released a method to return any Motorola ATRIX 4G on 4.1.51 and 4.1.52 to get back to the official build at any time. Simply quoted, “to get it updated go to Motorola Software Update and Choose Atrix 4G and follow the … [Read more...]

Motorola Atrix 4G – Possible HSUPA Update?

After last months fallout regarding the 4G capabilities of AT&T’s network, and the response that ensued later, it seems there may be a light at the end of the tunnel for Atrix 4G owners. A new update seems to be rolling out behind the scenes and the guys at Droid Matters have gotten a few screen shots showing the results.   This new update has not been officially announced however as you can see it changes your version number to 4.1.83 from XDA user Nate2569 … [Read more...]
