Droid 4 sees first Ice Cream Sandwich build leak

Androidear

Another Motorola device has seen an early leak of Ice Cream Sandwich, though it is far from the build that should eventually reach handsets. The Android 4.0.4 leak for the Droid 4 comes direct from Moto and is available for installation, but only the more adventurous users need apply. The test build likely needs some more work before it is ready for deployment. Those installing now may fall victim to the tendency for leaks to not so easily revert to manufacturer approved software when flashed … [Read more...]

Kyocera Hydro First Look

kyocera-rise-hydro-androidear

Kyocera made a couple of key announcements. One of the phones they were excited to unveil was the Kyocera Hydro, a full-touch smartphone that, for the time being, is completely stock Android 4.0. The device was running on Qualcomm’s 1GHz 8655 single-core processor. I can’t say that I was shocked to see decent performance despite having such an old and slow processor. The processor still isn’t that bad and Android 4.0 is, of course, faster than its predecessors. The phone has been … [Read more...]

Qualcomm shows off the world’s first autostereoscopic 3D tablet

6d535__Qualcommsssss

Qualcomm had a lavish booth at CTIA and I had to go over there to see what was new. Little did I know I’d be running into the world’s first autostereoscopic 3D tablet. It was a Qualcomm-branded developer device, but it was still nice to see a tablet, one with a 1920×1200 resolution, able to produce stereoscopic 3D and convert 2D to 3D. It was just one of many demos and achievements Qualcomm showcases to let people know that S4 is the bee’s knees. Grab a look at the video … [Read more...]

Samsung Galaxy S3 First Look

S 3

So we’ve finally tracked down the Samsung Galaxy S3. None of us could get to London to see it unveiled for the first time but Samsung surprised us when they brought it to Pepcom, a side event here at CTIA in New Orleans. I was hardly able to contain my excitement when I saw it, and getting my hands on it for the first was like the day I finally stepped into the 3D era of gaming by buying the original Playstation. Hardware I would be lying if I said I had no problems with the design of … [Read more...]

A quick look at the first two CyanogenMod v9 themes available in the Google Play Store

androidear_b8c0f__lucid1

As many of you may be aware, the Theme Engine has made it's way back into the CM9. The theme engine is one of the best features of CyanogenMod in my opinion, as it allows for quick and easy theme changes. With over 300+ themes available for CM7, we're all looking forward to this latest addition. Which brings me to the topic of this article, added earlier today by a famous theme developer Sonny Sekhon are two (so far) of his more popular themes. The unit is a smallish device that has a USB port for charging and an HDMI port. … [Read more...]

First videos of the Samsung Galaxy S III start to Emerge

androidear_a690d__Galaxy-S-III-Hands-On

Seeing photos and reading about a device just doesn’t do the trick for many people. They may look great, but seeing it in action makes all the difference. I don’t mean seeing a business created video of a rendered version of the device. It is all about seeing the true device in action. We promised to push out a few videos for everyone to watch as soon as we could find them. That is exactly what we plan to do right here. The first ones come in from SamsungTomorrow. It was the hands on video … [Read more...]
